Modal Analysis of Specific Composite Sandwich Structures

Composite sandwich structures are gaining attention due to their inherent properties, such as lightweight, low density, and high strength. The forced vibration response of these was studied experimentally investigate the effects external loads on structures. In this work, four composite were manufactured using carbon fiber, glass fibers, foam tested a specially designed test rig by hitting specimen with an impact hammer. recorded accelerometer attached specimens. signal amplified, input output signals transferred LABVIEW via data acquisition card processed in MATLAB. hammer acts excitation source, frequency function found for each under various edge boundary conditions. Bode plots plotted test, peak phase difference compared. It that specimens made fiber skins honeycomb core showed higher among all (400 Hz). Furthermore, it layer reduces between from (360degrees) (180degrees) compared other cores. Therefore, procedure outlined research can be applied response. addition, work could beneficial diagnosis structure stability procedure.

Modal Analysis of Masonry Structures

This paper presents a new numerical tool for evaluating the vibration frequencies and mode shapes of masonry buildings in the presence of cracks.
